Distributor Core Products Program

Magic Lite’s line up of Core products including our Xenon and LED families continues to grow. Many of our select stocking distributors produced sales increases as great as 35% over our last fiscal year as of June 30th.

This program is a great success for participating distributors as it helps them penetrate deeper into the lighting industry with quality, interesting products. Magic Lite supplies each stocking distributor with free floor displays which become powerful selling tools to their customers. Our continuously growing product line up provides distributors with a wide range of opportunities for sales growth to existing and new customers. Because of the launch of our new LED Shelf Star and LED Surface Star, we have added to our LED family display with a clever and simple header that simply clips on to the existing LED displays. For more information on this powerful program, contact your Magic Lite sales rep or our inside sales department.

Kingsway Pedestrian Bridge in Burnaby, BC

Specifiers for this project were Busby Perkins & Will Architects and RFA Engineering, both based in Vancouver, BC. The Magic Lite Sales Representative in Vancouver is SLS Lighting.

The Kingsway bridge was developed to allow pedestrians to get from one side to the other without having to cross the busy roadway. LED Neon Flex from Magic Lite was specified and installed on the bridge and the results were spectacular! Over 200 feet of blue LED Neon Flex was mounted in an aluminum channel track that was placed along the top of the bridge. The blue outline highlights the architectural features of the structure and provides an aestically pleasing source of safety lighting.

LED Neon Flex is a completely flexible, solid core tube imbedded with LEDs that looks exactly like neon. It is very durable which makes LED Neon Flex ideal for outdoor applications. Energy efficient is another feature - it is extremely low in power consumption – a mere 2.4 watts per foot for the brilliant blue used in this project.

Spirit of Canada Update

The crunch is on for Derek Hatfield and Spirit Of Canada as they make final preparations for the November Vendee Globe single handed, round the world race.

Derek has accomplished an unbelievable task in getting the boat built and qualifying for the race – single handed! Now, that might seem appropriate for a single handed race, but one has to remember, Derek Hatfield is the only participant in this race who doesn’t have a main sponsor. Most of the fleet consists of European racers who all have a major named sponsor who carries the financial burden of the race, leaving the business of boat and ground crew to the skippers. In the case of Spirit Of Canada, Derek has done it all on his own. This in itself is a victory.

Spirit Of Canada is still looking for a named sponsor to ensure the boat’s readiness for this most grueling and dangerous race. The advertising exposure for the right multinational company is incredible and is available for a fraction of its true value. Any interested parties should contact Derek directly at derek@spiritofcanada.net

In the mean time, between speaking engagements and fundraising activities, Derek is busy fulfilling sailing commitments to minor sponsors such as Magic Lite on Lake Ontario out of Port Credit Yacht Club.

Magic Lite and a few lucky guests will have the sail of a lifetime aboard The Spirit Of Canada. Stay tuned for some great pictures and vivid descriptions on what it is like to sail on one of the fastest monohulls in the world!
