
Description: Magic Lite offers coextruded pure optical fibers with flexible
PVC tubing. Only light is transmitted through the fibers–no heat,
ultraviolet radiation or electricity. Colour can be transmitted into
the fibers via a dichroic colour wheel in the illuminator. Fiber
optic cable retains its flexibility over time. The PVC tubing is
treated with fungicides and U.V. inhibitors for weather resistance.
All illuminators accommodate at least up to 300 fibers. Magic Lite
offers two kinds of fiber optic cable: side-emitting and
end-emitting fiber optic cable.

Side-emitting: Illumination for linear highlights are created with BritePak or
SuperStars fiber optic cable by Fiberstars. BritePak fiber optic
cable utilizes Fiberstars' patented process of twisting and cabling
the fibers to ensure the most uniform, brightest side-emitting
illumination. SuperStars fiber optic cable creates an unbreakable
decorative linear look and comes in 2 sizes (1 1/4" on centre and 1
3/4" on centre). The maximum recommended length for side-emitting
fiber optic cable is 100 feet for most applications, 50 feet for
signage. This includes both closed looped on one illuminator or run
as series between illuminators. Consult factory if longer lengths
are needed.
End-emitting: FiberSpots FSPT fiber optic cable and fire rated FRFS fiber
optic cable by Fibrestars have an opaque jacket, with light emitting
from the ends of the fibers only. FSPT fiber optic cable is used in
conjunction with the complete range of indoor and outdoor fixtures
offered by Magic Lite. The fire rated FRFS fiber optic cable is used
in ceiling applications with downlight fixtures. 50 feet is the
maximum recommended length for end-emitting fiber optic cable.
Applications: Fiber optic lighting systems can be used in any commercial,
industrial or residential lighting application. Some areas include
building facades, high traffic areas, confined spaces, high
ceilings, towers, bridges, museum, display cases, steps and
underwater lighting.

Performance Through our association with manufacturers of the highest quality
raw materials and systems, Magic Lite offers the industries’ best
performing fiber optic systems. Actual light output levels of any
fiber optic system depend upon the illuminator used, the length of
fiber and type of lens or fixture used at the end of the fiber (if
applicable). Ambient light conditions will also have a pronounced
effect on a fiber optic lighting system. Independent test lab
photometric data is available on most systems upon request.
Installation: The side-emitting fiber optic cable is mounted in straight lines
with track or in curved designs with clips and/or silicone adhesive.
The end-emitting fiber optic cable is run from the illuminator to
the fixture locations either freely or in conduit. The fiber optic
cable has a minimum bend radius of 4X the diameter. Allow an extra
3' of fiber optic cable from each end at the illuminator for a
